Sean Harren

Sean Harren, CAP, CEI

Director of Operations

Sean Harren serves as the Director of Operations for The Retreat of Atlanta. For many years, Sean has worked in residential drug and alcohol treatment centers and medical detoxification, always with the singular focus of facilitating quality care for each patient and offering support and communication with loved ones. Sean understands that navigating and finding quality treatment providers without a map or guide can be daunting. The urgency and complexity of many admission situations also require efficient and compassionate communication. Sean's years of relationship building ands experience have created a vast understanding of clinical and medical programming, logistics, insurance, and financing options in an ever-changing marketplace. He brings all of this expertise to The Retreat of Atlanta to make journey a little less arduous for those ready to seek help and their support system. Beyond his direct responsibilities to The Retreat of Atlanta, Sean has dedicated himself to the advocacy of addiction recovery and to make a difference in the local community, such as facilitating fellowship meetings in the Broward County jails. Sean graduated from the Academy for Addiction Professionals. His clinical certification has added to his value to the dynamic leadership team at The Retreat of Atlanta. Sean graduated from the Miami-Dade Medical Campus and practices as a Licensed Optician for many years before entering the addiction recovery field.

Ed Walsh

HR | UR Director

Ed Walsh completed his addiction treatment certification at The Academy for Addiction Professionals in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He is currently a Certified Addiction Counselor, filling UR liaison, case coordinator, and discharge specialist at The Retreat of Atlanta. Mr. Walsh has many years of experience in addiction, including marketing, treating and coordinating services for those affected by substance abuse and mental illness. Mr. Walsh brings compassion, patience, knowledge, and firsthand experience to his work. He has helped many to achieve and maintain successful sobriety. Ed Walsh is also active in the Rockers in Recovery program and brings his musicianship to our treatment center, skillfully demonstrating how creativity, passion, and fun go hand in hand with successful recovery from addiction. We are fortunate to have him on our staff.

Jared Kirschner

Jared Kirschner, CEI

Director of Outreach Operations

Jared is the Director of Outreach Operations at The Retreat of Atlanta and is a native of Medford, New Jersey. He holds his bachelor's degree in marketing/business development from Rutgers University. Jared has been working in substance abuse industry for over a decade. He has a passion for helping those that are seeking recovery and has been instrumental in assisting many afflicted by addicted as well as working closely with their families. Jared leads with ethics and integrity as his primary focus and has been successful in developing working relationships with other providers locally and out of state. Jared is a valued member of The Retreat of Atlanta.

Beau Allen

Beau Allen, CEI

Director of Business Development

Beau's personal journey in addiction began during his college years ending with him finding his way to treatment and in return sobriety, in 2013. Over the past eight years, Beau has worked in many different facets of the treatment industry including working as a behavioral health technician, in admissions, and community outreach. Today Beau continues to build relationships throughout the community and medical field to better help people struggling with addiction and mental health issues. As the Director of Business Development, Beau's favorite part of his job is working with and meeting people; educating professionals and clients about substance abuse services that are offered so they can improve the quality of their life by making positive lifetime changes. His goal is to assist those suffering from this disease and their families in any way he can.

Derek is an experienced member of the team drawing on his clinical background in Psychology and having personal experiences in recovery, benefitting the patient population and the facility. Having completed his degree in Psychology at Temple University, Derek draws on a myriad of therapeutic modalities to serve our community. Additionally, Derek draws on administrative experiences at various start-up endeavors which are now thriving to ensure the efficiency and efficacy of the Retreat.

Latresa White

Latresa White, MS

Therapist

Latresa is a Detox Therapist at the Retreat of Atlanta. She received her Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling and BS in Criminal Justice from Fort Valley University. Latresa has 6 years of experience with working with multiple populations in mental health and alcohol/substance abuse. She takes a person-centered approach to therapy, while utilizing Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) interventions. Latresa is also a Certified Event Interventionist CEI, she can deal with someone in crisis and the limited time and opportunity to intervene. Latresa can de- escalate the client, build rapport, and provide a viable solution. Latresa has intentionally worked in positions from groups homes, long-term residential, schools, private practice and hospital setting to have a firsthand look at what is it like to struggle with mental health and substance abuse. She has devoted herself to using her knowledge and techniques to help clients gain coping skills and other strategies to overcome their traumas, addictions, negative emotions and help them in setting and accomplishing their own goals. Latresa goal is to provide hope and healing on their journey to success.

Shauntell Mann-Sellers

My name is Shauntell E. Mann, I have a Master’s Degree from Georgia College, and a undergraduate degree from Mercer University. I have 15 plus years combined experience in case management, behavioral therapy, substance abuse counseling, Aftercare through Spectrum, and lastly, as a therapist. Career History: I worked as a case manager for Faith Health Service for over 5 years, On the Path for Children w/ Behavioral Issues for over 1 year, Substance abuse counselor for Spectrum Health (Both men/women in a prison setting) for over 5 years, Aftercare for offenders-5 years, and currently, approaching my 1 year employment anniversary w/ the Retreat Of Atlanta. Throughout life, I have held many positions in the Social Science Field, overall my careers working at the Retreat has been the most rewarding. I love the employees, staff, and upper management, and most of all the patients.

Christina Ozelis

Christina Ozelis, RN, CEI

Director of Nursing

Christina Ozelis is our Director of Nursing at The Retreat of Atlanta. She is an RN who loves working in the fields of addiction and psychiatry and has been working in this field for almost 10yrs. Christina was previously a mental health counselor on Long Island, NY before moving to Atlanta to pursue a career in nursing at Emory University. Drawing on her previous experiences working with people in recovery and mental health, she began her career in substance abuse nursing at another Atlanta-based detox facility. She worked as Director of Nursing and LGBTQ+ program facilitator there for a while before coming over to The Retreat of Atlanta. Christina's favorite thing about working in detox and recovery is getting to be a part of a client's journey to sobriety and helping them find hope where it was once lost. In addition to counseling and nursing, Christina has also worked in the fields of IT, university teaching, and training horses. Christina comes to The Retreat of Atlanta with a wide variety of leadership experiences in nursing, university program directing, education development, and technology. She considers herself a transformational-style leader who takes pride in involving her team in shared governance and drawing on the strengths of each individual to create the best in patient outcomes and experiences. Christina is currently attending Duke University for her DNP in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Practice with a concentration in nursing education and leadership.

Angela Nelson-Williams

Angela Nelson-Williams, RN

Assistant Director Of Nursing

Angela Nelson-Williams is our Assistant Director of Nursing here at the Retreat of Atlanta located in Eatonton Georgia. Angela is a lifelong resident of the community and comes with many resources to help the people we serve. Angela has a BS in Nursing, BS in Public Service/Human Services and a MS in Rehabilitation Counseling and Case Management. She is a Certified Case Manager and Certified Holistic Health and Wellness Coach. Angela's came to us from the local nursing home here in Eatonton where she was the Assistant Director of Nursing. Prior to that she was employed as a Regional Nurse Manager for a Georgia Mobile Crisis Agency. Angela is a compassionate person who has a passion for helping people in crisis. With all this experience, training, and education, Angela makes an amazing addition to this team and touches the lives of everyone who comes through our doors. Her favorite scripture is Matthew 25:40-45.

Jillian comes to the retreat with years of both professional and personal experience in the world of addiction treatment. Jillian is currently enrolled in a BA program of psychology at Grand Canyon University and previously received her AA in psychology from Mira Costa College. In addition, Jillian holds certifications as a Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician, and an Event Interventionist. In her free time, you can find her hanging out with her rescue pup, or traveling on an adventure. She is passionate about helping others in their recovery journeys and excited to be a part of the team at The Retreat of Atlanta.

The Retreat of Atlanta Staff and patients follow the CDC guidelines for wearing a mask, hand washing regularly, and social distancing in all aspects of treatment. Patients and staff are confidentially tested if CDC signs/symptoms/temperature are present. We practice strict preventative measures.
