How Can the Retreat of Atlanta Help My Client?
We offer both inpatient detox and residential treatment to help clients build a solid foundation for recovery away from the distractions of the exterior world. We want them to have a sense of familiarity and consistency as they work towards a healthier, more fulfilling future. While in both of these levels of care, clients are given 24/7 supervision and participate in a range of proven therapies and holistic healing strategies.
Drug & Alcohol Detox
Detox for alcohol or drugs allows individuals to rid their bodies of all toxins, so that they can begin treatment with a firm foothold in recovery. This type of program is ideal for individuals who experience withdrawal symptoms in the absence of drugs or alcohol. Withdrawal can prove dangerous, which is why it is essential to detox under the supervision of qualified professionals.
While in our care, clients are monitored around the clock in order to address any complications and administer medications when necessary.
Residential Treatment Program
Residential treatment is designed for those who are no longer in withdrawal and are in a position to focus entirely on their recovery. Clients live on-site, where they participate in a host of treatment interventions intended to address the factors that have contributed to their condition while fostering impulse control, empathy, responsibility, healthy coping mechanisms, problem-solving skills, and personal growth.
Ultimately, this type of treatment enables clients to develop the skills and resilience needed to navigate life’s challenges without compromising their sobriety.
Services We Provide
We provide a full continuum of addiction and mental health treatment services to ensure every individual who walks through our doors gets the extensive care they deserve. Services offered at Retreat of Atlanta include:
- Drug and Alcohol Detox: We offer a full suite of medically-supervised detox services that promote comfort, safety, and rest. Our ultimate goal is to help clients build a strong framework for recovery so that they can enter further treatment with an improved sense of clarity and health.
- Residential Rehab: Also referred to as inpatient rehab, clients in this type of programming live at our clean and tranquil treatment center. There, they are able to focus on healing away from the triggers and stresses associated with the outside world.
- Gender-Specific Detox: By offering gender-specific services, we are able to address the unique needs of both men and women while making them feel comfortable and secure.
- Dual-Diagnosis Treatment: Addiction and mental health challenges often go hand-in-hand. For this reason, our programs are designed to address both co-occurring disorders at once—setting clients up for the most successful treatment outcomes.
- Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT): Under the careful supervision of medical professionals, eligible clients will receive specific medications to ease withdrawal symptoms and minimize cravings.
- Psychiatry: Psychiatry helps to diagnose and address the underlying mental health issues that contribute to addiction through both therapeutic and medical support.
- Individual Therapy: In individual therapy sessions, clients work one-on-one with a qualified therapist in an environment that encourages open communication and long-term healing.
- Group Therapy: Group therapy allows clients to connect with others who have shared similar struggles. This reduces feelings of loneliness as well as the unfortunate stigma sometimes associated with substance use.
- Family Counseling: While in family counseling, clients have the opportunity to strengthen relationships with their loved ones in a constructive and empathetic setting.
- Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT): CBT helps individuals replace negative thought patterns with healthier ones, resulting in more positive habits and improved behaviors.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): While emphasizing the relationship between therapist and client, DBT focuses on the balance between acceptance and change.

How Does the Retreat of Atlanta Address Stigma of Addiction?
Unfortunately, it is common for those seeking addiction treatment to encounter negative stigma. This can result in hesitancy and a fear of judgment or discrimination. In too many cases, this stigma prevents individuals from reaching out for the help they need.
When referring a client, it’s essential to acknowledge these concerns and provide them with reassurance and support. We also understand that real-life obstacles, like transportation, childcare, school, or work, can further complicate the process. Our caring staff is dedicated to recognizing and addressing these challenges. We work closely with clients and professionals to eliminate barriers—making the referral and treatment process go as smoothly as possible.
What Happens After Detox and Residential Treatment?
Many individuals require additional treatment after completing detox and inpatient rehab. This is why we work directly with clients to create an effective aftercare plan. This may include support groups, continued therapy sessions, or outpatient and sober living facility referrals.
We are proud to partner with reputable outpatient services in the Atlanta area. As a result, our clients are able to continue their journey to recovery while incorporating flexibility back into their schedules. Treatment levels we may refer clients to include Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHPs), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs), and Outpatient Programs (OP). We can also connect clients to sober living houses where they can maintain their sobriety while surrounded by supportive individuals who are also in recovery.
